Keep Textiles and other Waste out of the Landfill
Village of Rhinebeck residents can recycle your unwanted clothing, linens, luggage, textiles, bags, accessories, stuffed animals, and footwear right from your stoop or driveway — for free!
The Village of Rhinebeck is taking part in a Dutchess County-sponsored program with Helpsy, which offers monthly pickup from your stoop or driveway. Items you want to recycle through the Helpsy program must be clean, dry, and odorless and must be left outside in a closed plastic bag on the day of pickup. To help minimize emissions impact, please only request a pickup when you have 3 or more bags.

This program helps keep reusable items out of the landfill — reducing waste, pollution, and disposal costs for our community. Climate Smart Rhinebeck gathered this interesting information about where your waste is going and why responsible recycling matters.
Please note: The municipal government is not responsible for picking up items in this program. You can leave your bags sitting on your stoop or driveway from 7am - 7pm on the appointed day. Bags left out otherwise will be considered littering or encumbering the sidewalk, which violates Village code § 98-13 and 72-1.
