The Village is now participating in the Hometown Hero Banners Program!

This program will be implemented in phases. Phase 1 : Municipal Lot Streetlights
These banners will be specific to honorees that have been Killed in Action (KIA) and/or eligible veterans that are deceased.

For this phase, applications will be accepted for honorees that are deceased, were discharged under honorable conditions and satisfy at least one of the following residency requirements:

  • Was a current resident of the Village or Town of Rhinebeck at the time of their passing; or

  • Was previously residing in the Village or Town of Rhinebeck (20 years or more); or

  • Was a resident of the Village or Town of Rhinebeck at the time of enlistment or entry into military service.

Applicants must submit:

  • Completed Hometown Heroes Banner Application

  • Proof of Rhinebeck residency or qualifying connection

  • Proof of military service (DD-214)

  • Check or Money Order for $200; made payable to "Village of Rhinebeck” with "Hometown Hero - [Veteran's Name]" in the Memo Line.

  • Digital (preferred) or Hard Copy Photo of Honoree with at least 300 dpi resolution
